Dr Maria Devine is a Consultant Oral Surgeon at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in London and offers private Oral Surgery in dental practices across London and Kent. She is passionate about all aspects of Oral Surgery, with a minimally invasive approach and calm, relaxed nature which puts patients at ease.
Maria completed an academic clinical specialist training programme in Oral Surgery at King’s College Hospital, London. During her training, she gained experience in the most innovative and safe surgical techniques, completed 1000s of wisdom tooth removals and regularly took part in orthodontic and paediatric clinics and surgery to facilitate orthodontic treatment, both of which have become her specialist skills. As part of her training, she completed a number of research projects into trigeminal nerve injuries and chronic post-surgical facial pain and has published over 20 research papers, contributed to textbooks and online learning programmes and presented her work nationally and internationally.
As a Consultant at the Eastman, Maria is heavily involved in teaching and training the next generation of Oral Surgeons in the UK and postgraduate students from all over the world. Aside from Oral Surgery, she has completed additional postgraduate qualifications in medical education and transformational coaching. She is also the lead for surgical safety and consent in the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, ensuring that all staff treat patients with the highest standards of surgical safety.
Dr Maria Devine is available to see both adults and children on referral who require Oral Surgery or dental implant procedures such as impacted wisdom tooth removal, simple and surgical extractions, apical surgery, soft tissue biopsy, frenectomy (lip and tongue tie), exposure and bonding of impacted teeth for orthodontic treatment, removal of cysts and benign lesions, sinus lift and bone grafting, implant placements and consultation for temporomandibular joint disorders. These treatments can be offered with sedation if required.
